Open Call for Monumental Outdoor Sculpture
Miami International Fine Arts (MIFA) invites artists to submit proposals for MIFA Sculpture Walk 2026–2027, a temporary outdoor exhibition dedicated to monumental sculpture, public art, and site-responsive works.
Located between Doral and Miami Springs, MIFA is a multidisciplinary center for contemporary art, education, artist residencies, exhibitions, performance, and community engagement. The Sculpture Walk extends MIFA’s mission beyond the gallery, creating a public encounter between art, architecture, landscape, and the surrounding community.
For this edition, MIFA is seeking large-scale outdoor sculptures with a minimum height of 11 feet. Selected works will be exhibited outdoors at MIFA from November 2026 through June 2027.
The exhibition will present ambitious sculptural works that activate MIFA’s exterior spaces and contribute to a growing cultural landscape in South Florida.
This open call is open to artists working in sculpture, installation, public art, assemblage, metal, wood, ceramics, fiber, mixed media, found objects, light-based work, or other durable outdoor materials.
Artists may submit:
Existing outdoor-ready sculptures
New proposals for temporary outdoor works
Site-responsive sculptural installations designed for MIFA’s exterior spaces
Submitted works must:
Be a minimum of 11 feet high
Be suitable for outdoor exhibition in Miami weather conditions
Be structurally safe and appropriate for public viewing
Include a clear installation and anchoring plan
Be available for exhibition from November 2026 through June 2027
Be available for sale during the exhibition period
MIFA is especially interested in works that demonstrate:
Strong visual presence
Conceptual clarity
Material and structural intelligence
A meaningful relationship to public space
Durability and safety
Dialogue with MIFA’s architecture, landscape, and community
