The Miami International Fine Arts (MIFA) is delighted to announce an open call for artists worldwide to participate in our upcoming juried exhibition, Caribbean Breezes: A Plein Air Juried Exhibition, juried by Karen Bibas and Elkin Canas
"Caribbean Breezes" aspires to illuminate the myriad perspectives and experiences of diverse artists inspired by the Caribbean. This exhibition celebrates the region's boundless beauty and eternal allure through the refined art of plein-air painting. We invite artists to encapsulate the essence of the Caribbean’s vastness, its dynamic palette, the intricate dance of light and shadow along its shores, and its rich flora and fauna. Viewers are offered a profound exploration of the Caribbean landscape's natural splendor and cultural richness.
Submission Details:
Artists are invited to submit their best plein-air works inspired by the ocean theme.
Submission fee: $30 (non-refundable).
Deadline for submissions: May 1, 2025.
Accepted mediums include but are not limited to oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, and mixed media.
Each artist may submit up to 2 (two) artworks for consideration.
The artist is responsible for paying the shipping back and forth if their work is selected.
To ensure that all the artwork meets the gallery's standards, it's important to mention that each piece must be ready to hang. Specifically, any artwork that does not have proper hanging hardware, such as high rings, will not be displayed. This requirement is essential for maintaining the professional presentation and safety of the exhibition.
Jurors: Karen Bibas and Elkin Canas will carefully review all submissions and select artworks that best encapsulate the spirit and beauty of the ocean.
Exhibition Benefits:
Selected artworks will be displayed at The Miami International Fine Arts, offering artists unparalleled exposure to the vibrant Miami art scene.
Participating artists will have the opportunity to showcase their work to a diverse audience of art enthusiasts, collectors, and industry professionals.
2nd and 3rd Place Certificate Awards will be presented to outstanding works selected by the jurors.
The 1st place winner will receive the opportunity to have a solo exhibition at MIFA, valued at $3,000.*
Artist Participation:
While not mandatory, selected artists are encouraged to attend the exhibition opening on June 6, 2025. This event provides an excellent opportunity for artists to connect with the local art community, collectors, and fellow participants.
